Edition 1
Emokpae Primary School
Our very first outreach — the pilot that kicked off The Tech Advantage in Benin City.
On Friday, 14th November 2025, The Tech Advantage took its first step. Our team of corps members arrived at Emokpae Primary School in Benin City for the pilot outreach and awareness kick-off.
For many of the pupils, this was the first time anyone had talked to them about computers, coding and the jobs technology creates. We kept it simple, practical and fun: what a computer is, what it can do, and why they — right here in Benin City — belong in the digital future.
What happened
- An interactive session introducing technology and digital careers to young pupils
- Questions, answers and lots of excitement from the children
- Every child received a Project TTA card — their personal key to keep learning online — and snacks
Why it mattered
This pilot proved the idea worked. Children who had never touched a computer were eager to learn, and it gave us the confidence to take TTA to more schools, and onto the streets.
120 young people reached — 74 boys and 46 girls.
